Lufthansa appoints Andreas Köster Senior Director Sales UK, Ireland & Iceland

It was announced today that Andreas Köster is the newly appointed Senior Director Sales UK, Ireland & Iceland for the Lufthansa Group.

From 1 September 2016 Andreas (right) will be responsible for the sales activities and representation of the Lufthansa Group in UK, Ireland and Iceland. Mr Köster will be based in London and reports to Heike Birlenbach, Vice President Sales Europe Lufthansa Group.

Andreas Köster (45) brings many years of experience in airline management to his new position. He started his career in 1997 as management trainee with Lufthansa. He then gained profound experience in airline revenue management, before becoming General Manager Market & Business Development based in Singapore in 2004. Three years later, he returned to Lufthansa’s Frankfurt office as Director Customer Intelligence, being responsible for Customer Data Analysis and Market Research.

In 2013, he became Director Global Key Account Management, with responsibility for Lufthansa Group’s global corporate customers, travel management companies and online travel agents. Mr Köster holds an Industrial Engineer degree from the Technical University Braunschweig in Germany.

Mr Köster is succeeding Christian Schindler, who held this position since 2012. Mr Schindler will now be Head of Sales and Services Europe for the LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG being then based at Frankfurt airport.
