Jet2.com selects Honeywell’s 131-9B APU for 34 B737-800NGs

Award-winning UK leisure airline Jet2.com, has selected Honeywell to provide aftermarket support for auxiliary power units on 34 of its Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.

Under the terms of the agreement, Jet2.com will also use Honeywell’s Predictive Trend Monitoring and Diagnostics (PTMD) application to reduce maintenance costs and enhance the process of troubleshooting Honeywell auxiliary power units (APUs). Maintenance of the APUs will be performed at Honeywell’s facility in Raunheim, Germany.

To support its continued growth, Jet2 plc - the leisure travel group encompassing Jet2.com and Jet2holidays - has invested in ambitious fleet expansion and renewal plans, with Honeywell equipping up to 75 new Airbus A321 NEO aircraft with APUs.

Jet2 plc has 98 firm Airbus A321/A320 NEO aircraft orders, which could eventually extend up to 146 aircraft.

Honeywell’s first APU took to the skies in 1950 and since then the company has built more than 100,000.
