Cobham continues support for Royal Australian Navy's hydrographic survey

Cobham Aviation Services has been awarded a five year contract extension by Fugro LADS Corporation Pty Ltd to support the provision of hydrographic survey services for the Royal Australian Navy.

Cobham will continue to support Fugro in providing this unique service which involves operating an airborne laser bathymetry (ALB) system to survey shorelines, tides, currents and sea floors.

Darren Moncrieff, General Manager Special Mission, Cobham Aviation Services said: “We have significant experience operating and maintaining fit for purpose special mission platforms and look forward to continuing to work in synchrony with Fugro with whom we have a long-term relationship. Cobham has been supporting Fugro’s hydrographic survey services since 1998.”

Mark Sinclair, Managing Director, Fugro LADS Corporation said: “Our sophisticated laser airborne depth sounder equipment is integrated into a Dash 8 aircraft which Cobham will support by providing the expertise and services required to operate and maintain the Dash 8 aircraft.”
