Smith Myers' Artemis MPDLS integrated with Trakka Mission System

Smith Myers and Trakka Systems have successfully integrated the Artemis Mobile Phone Detection & Location System (MPDLS) with the Trakka TM-100 Mapping System and TC line of EO/IR camera systems.

This new capability enables cellular detection and location data from Artemis to be seamlessly overlaid on the Trakka mission system map display. The system can then automatically slew the Trakka EO/IR camera to the exact latitude and longitude provided by Artemis, significantly improving situational awareness, operational efficiency and response speed during search-and-rescue (SAR), law enforcement and disaster response missions.

“This integration brings together two world-leading technologies to create a unified, operator-friendly solution,” said Andrew Munro, Managing Director of Smith Myers. “By automatically linking Artemis outputs with the Trakka EO/IR sensor, we dramatically reduce cognitive workload and ensure crews can focus on decision-making rather than manual sensor management. The result is faster, more accurate, and safer operations.”

Mike Kipphorn, Managing Director, Trakka Systems - West, added: “Trakka’s mission solutions are designed to give crews a clear, intuitive picture of the operational environment. Integrating Artemis ensure cellular collects feed directly into our mission and sensor ecosystem providing an unmatched level of situational awareness — enabling operators to locate, identify, and assist people in distress with unprecedented speed and precision.”

The combined solution allows for real-time cueing of the Trakka EO/IR camera based on mobile handset locations detected by Artemis. The result is a streamlined workflow where targets are automatically highlighted, prioritised and tracked within the Trakka Mission System.

The integration further demonstrates both companies’ shared commitment to delivering innovative, interoperable, and mission-ready technologies for the global airborne law enforcement, SAR and defence communities.
