The GDLS–Canada contract initiates a multi-year program that will see NP Aerospace design, develop, test, certify and produce the add-on up-armour systems that will involve NP’s proven composite armour survivability technology. NP Aerospace’s Canadian business will front and deliver the program, proving NP’s established and effective global footprint.

NP Aerospace is fully established as a trusted global supplier of vehicle-related products and services including integrated vehicle armour systems, with a proven and resilient track record in delivering armour system design and cutting-edge lightweight armour materials technology.

This latest contract will result in the recruitment of staff that will increase the workforce at NP Aerospace Canada, continuing their successful growth trajectory and further contributing to the London and Southwestern Ontario region.

NP Aerospace is an existing supplier to GDLS–Canada with the previously announced Armoured Personnel Transport Modules (APTM) being delivered, through Marshall Canada, for Canada’s Logistics Vehicle Modernization programme.

James Kempston, NP Aerospace CEO, commented: “We’re proud to have been selected by GDLS–Canada to design and deliver the LAV armour systems for their customer. Adding this new contract to our ongoing work with GDLS–Canada underlines our position as the survivability partner of choice. We design and deliver integrated add-on armour systems including, internal spall liners, external applique and seating systems to counter a range of ballistic and blast threats. Our survivability services are cross-OEM and global, ranging from Civilian Armoured Vehicles (CAVs) through logistic and utility vehicles to full armoured fighting systems.

“Our Canadian business is continuing to grow and this contract will enable us to further develop our local capability to serve our customers, both domestically and as a Canadian exporter. I thank everyone who has been involved in this success story to date as we look forward to a continuation and expansion of our collective achievements in Canada and beyond.”
