Over 35 employers based across the airport’s campus and beyond took part in the event, which was held on the first floor of the main terminal.

More than 1,100 jobseekers visited throughout the day to find out more about the employment opportunities on offer.

Recruitment teams from a diverse range of airport-based or associated partner companies including air traffic providers NATS, ground handlers Swissport and Menzies, security specialists ICTS, facilities management partner ABM, catering specialists The Restaurant Group and Select Service Partners were on hand to discuss full-time, part-time and seasonal employment opportunities.

Airline partners including Loganair and Jet2 were also in attendance offering a range of positions, while transport operators First, Stagecoach and McGill’s were recruiting for a large number of trainee and Public Service Vehicle (PSV) bus drivers as well as other jobs across their networks. A number of the airport’s retailers including World Duty Free and both the Celtic and Rangers stores are also taking part.

A diverse range of job opportunities were up for grabs across the airport including air traffic control services, security, retail, facilities management, catering and ground handling. A number of direct Glasgow Airport Ltd jobs were available in areas of the business including human resources, finance, airfield operations and the control centre.

Ronald Leitch, Operations Director at Glasgow Airport, said: “The jobs fair was a tremendous success and it was good to see that the event was consistently busy throughout the day with jobseekers looking to find out more about the opportunities available at the airport.

“Following the devastating news regarding the Amazon site in Gourock in the prior week, it was no surprise that many of the people impacted visited the jobs fair. We also welcomed a large number of Ukrainian refugees in attendance, so much so that one of the translators brought in to support them was constantly busy doing just that.

“We anticipate welcoming an additional one million passengers this year, so it was heartening to see so many people interested in taking up a role at the airport as we gear up for a busy summer ahead.”

Representatives from Invest in Renfrewshire and Jobcentre Plus were also present on the day, while free airport parking and complimentary bus travel was also made available to those attending the Jobs Fair. Additional Polish and Romanian translators were also on hand to support jobseekers.
