Approval was granted following a technical evaluation of the Toulouse laboratory and all test-related processes including quality management systems. The range of approved testing includes mechanical, corrosion and composites testing, and thermal analysis. Toulouse joins Exova’s Bridgwater, UK laboratory as an Embraer-approved facility, increasing capacity to meet the needs of Embraer’s European operations and supply chain.

Stuart Abbs, European director of aerospace for Exova, said: “As one of the world’s leading aerospace manufacturers, Embraer demands the highest level of expertise from its suppliers. The addition of a second approved European laboratory underlines Exova’s commitment to the provision of technically demanding services to Embraer and the global aerospace supply chain.”

Opened in 2014, the new Toulouse laboratory is one of Exova’s 18 Nadcap approved testing facilities worldwide, offering unrivalled materials fatigue testing capability to the European aerospace sector.

Exova is one of the world’s leading laboratory-based testing groups, trusted by organisations to test and advise on the safety, quality and performance of their products and operations.

Headquartered in Edinburgh, UK, Exova operates 121 permanent facilities in 23 countries and employs around 4,000 people throughout Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia/Asia Pacific.
