Aviareps, which provides international representation, marketing and communications for aviation, tourism, hospitality and food & beverage brands, will provide Avianca with a full range of sales, reservations and ticketing services and support the airline’s growth in the UK.
Avianca, headquartered in Bogotá, Colombia, was founded in 1919 and is the second oldest airline in the world and the oldest in Latin America. Avianca is a member of Star Alliance and operates flights to destinations throughout the Americas, as well as to Europe. The airline has a fleet of over 110 aircraft and in 2022 transported 24.6 million passengers. Avianca has been recognised for its safety and customer service, and it has been awarded multiple times as the best airline in Latin America.
Alejandra Agudelo Lopez, Sales Manager Avianca Europe: “Avianca is committed to the United Kingdom market and the opportunities it represents. In 2022 we flew 560 times between London and Bogota, carrying more than 125,000 passengers with 82% of our flights arriving at its destination with less than 14 minutes of delay.
"Also, we celebrated the elimination of the visa to enter the country for Colombians and Peruvians. Hence, considering the relevance and dynamics of the United Kingdom, we have decided to strengthen our presence and scope. We are pleased to announce the signing of a representation agreement with our partner Aviareps UK as General Sales Agent in United Kingdom & Ireland.”
Katerina Tomina, General Manager UK at Aviareps: “We are very proud about the appointment as General Sales Agent for Avianca Airlines in the United Kingdom. Our local aviation experts will support Avianca Airlines with their expertise and knowledge of the UK market and will help strengthen the brand awareness of the airline with the ultimate goal of increasing Avianca Airlines’ ticket sales. We already represent Avianca Airlines in Germany and we feel honoured about the expansion of our partnership and the given trust.”
