MAG sees record applications for graduates

Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has received a record number of applications for its 2015 graduate and intern positions, with over 4,000 people having applied for the 40 roles on offer, of which 20 are graduate positions and 20 are brand new internships.

Collette Roche (right), MAG HR & Transformation Director said: “This year we have been astounded by the level of interest in our graduate and intern roles.

“In 2012 we welcomed five people onto our first graduate programme and they have gone on to become highly valued members of our business, specialising in roles in our Retail, Communications and Project Management teams.

Last year’s intake of seven graduates are now placed across Airport Management, Asset Management, Engineering, Capital Delivery and Finance.

“For 2015 we have almost trebled the number of graduate positions we are looking to fill and due to a significant number of requests from students, have also added paid internships to our intake.”
“Our graduate programmes last between two and two and a half years and are designed to give the people specialist skills and experience within their chosen function, as well as broader leadership development.

“The internship programmes last for either three or 12 months and will provide students with invaluable work experience whilst also allowing us to engage early with future graduate talent. If interns perform well on their placement with us, they will have the option of being fast tracked through the graduate selection process.

“Students and graduates are used to learning and so learn quickly and can make a valuable contribution to a business, bringing with them fresh ideas and current thinking. Our graduate programme is designed to develop MAG leaders of the future.”

There were 20 internships available across 14 areas of the airport including Airside Operations, Press Office, Capital Delivery, Airport Management and Commercial. They are all paid internships and have been designed to help students build valuable work experience for their futures.
