British Embassy Manila hosts cybersecurity symposium

The British Embassy Manila this week hosted its first comprehensive cybersecurity event, illustrating its commitment to and support for cybersecurity resilience in the Philippines.

The symposium was held on Tuesday 16th January 2024, bringing together leading experts, government officials and industry leaders both from the UK and the Philippines to address the increasing frequency and sophistication of cyber threats and collectively develop strategies to enhance digital defences.

This event aims to create a platform for knowledge exchange, fostering partnerships between the United Kingdom and the Philippines in the realm of cybersecurity. Experts from the UK and the Philippines joined a panel discussion on trends, threats and practices in cybersecurity, moderated by Emmanuel Herve of BSI ASEAN.

This was followed by another panel on the importance of collaboration among government agencies, private enterprises and academia in addressing cybersecurity challenges.

Cybersecurity solution providers BT, CyberQ Group, NCC Group and British Standards Institution also showcased innovative technologies and tools designed to safeguard digital assets.
