TEC launches online engineers' forum

TEC Transnational has launched a new online forum designed to encourage engineers in the aviation, defence, automotive, motorsport, rail and nuclear sectors to submit questions and share their experiences on new industry standards, requirements and initiatives.

The West Midlands-based training and consulting company is hoping the issues raised on its new online forum – which is part of its brand new website at www.tectransnational.com – will help bring about practical solutions for industry.

Dr David Scrimshire, TEC’s Managing Director, said: “I am very excited about our new forum and I’m hoping the industry will get behind us and use it.  We often get asked the same questions from engineers from different companies several times a week, so having the ability to post answers on a forum for all to see, as well as discuss ‘hot topics’ pertinent to the industry will be of real benefit to our clients.  Looking ahead, I think the forum will be a huge help when the new AS9100 series of standards comes out in April 2016, as there are always lots of questions and issues arising out of changes in industry regulations.”

The idea for the forum came about after TEC decided to completely redesign the structure of its website following a user survey.  The training and consulting services offered by TEC requires the website to contain a lot of essential technical information which meant a lot of web pages.   However, following the survey, TEC decided to completely redesign the structure of its website - making it simpler to navigate and more interactive without compromising the detail.  The result is that TEC now guarantee any visitor can arrive at the page containing the information they require in just two-clicks.

As well as the online forum, the new website contains information on TEC’s training and qualifications for the aviation, defence, automotive, motorsport, rail and nuclear sectors; and consulting and implementation focused on implementing and maintaining third-party AS9100, TS16949, ISO 9001 and IRIS certifications, regulatory & customer approvals, SC21 recognition awards and quality/manufacturing tools & techniques.

Web users will also be regularly sign-posted to sources of grant funding and will be able to request further information on any topic by e-mail or a telecom scheduled from any of the web pages in just two-clicks.
