Plaza Premium Lounge wins Global Airport Lounge of the Year Award

Plaza Premium Lounge at London Heathrow, Terminal 2, has been awarded the Priority Pass Global Airport Lounge of the Year Award.

Now in its twelfth year, the awards are based on ratings provided by Priority Pass Members and recognise excellence within the world's largest independent lounge membership programme that includes over 1,000 airport lounges, in over 500 cities.

Located in the UK's busiest airport, the award-winning 8,100 square metre lounge combines sleek interior design and contemporary British culture. Standout features include a ceiling centrepiece which holds Great Britain's Union Jack flag, private bedrooms, luxurious shower rooms and a Wellness Spa created with the global traveler in mind. Plaza Premium Lounge was also the global winner in the Best Quality of Refreshments category with its signature Chicken Tikka Masala dish proving very popular amongst frequent flyers.

This year's overall winners are:

  • Global and Europe: Plaza Premium Lounge at London Heathrow
  • Africa & Middle East: Petra Lounge at Amman Queen Alia International
  • Asia Pacific: Asiana Lounge at Seoul Incheon International
  • North America: The Club at San Jose CA Mineta International
  • Latin America & The Caribbean: VIP Lounge at Guadalajara Miguel Hidalgo International

Other winners in Europe include Almost@Home Lounge at Helsinki Vantaa which was Highly Commended in the European category of the Awards. The Preludium Lounge at Warsaw Frederic Chopin offers the world's Best Business Facilities, with its unique decorative moss wall and dedicated working areas proving to be particularly popular features amongst frequent flyers. The SkyTeam Lounge located at London Heathrow, Terminal 4, was Highly Commended for having the Best Attitude and Service from Lounge Staff in the network.

Priority Pass received over 60,000 ratings from its Members in this year's awards using the lounge rating function on the new Priority Pass website and app. Its Members provide ratings on a set of criteria covering overall lounge quality, refreshments, staff, business facilities and ambience.
