FliteTrak showcasing ViatorAero at Paris Airshow
As developers of aviation’s first working ‘smart seating’ technology, FliteTrak are set for a Europe wide lift-off despite the UK’s Brexit from the EU. Their system can monitor individual seats for temperature, passenger movement and seatbelt closure as well as lock overhead containers, detect mobile phone activation and provide an environmental overview of the entire cabin interior.
ViatorAero also brings predictive maintenance benefits for greater fleet efficiency and continuous service.
The company is working with two aviation interior companies to develop seating for the market. It is also joining forces with The Institute of Experimental Psychophysiology in Dusseldorf on passenger comfort analysis using data from ViatorAero.
FliteTrak executives recently attended the Airline Purchasing and Maintenance Expo at Olympia in London, with positive discussions taking place with a key UK aerospace company.

FliteTrak unveiled ViatorAero at the Hamburg Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2017 in April.
The cutting-edge technology uses wireless, lightweight sensors below seats.
Live data is sent to a flight attendant’s tablet, FAP or mobile device showing individual seat and cabin activity.
Examples of ViatorAero use:
• Highlights to attendants which passengers have seatbelts open. This can save valuable time during visual checking, especially during turbulence.
• Movement sensors to allow monitoring of passengers who are unwell, in need of assistance, agitated or disruptive.
• Passenger movement during flights can be analysed after the flight
• Logging of broken equipment such as trays, seatbelts and screens can be recorded and the data transmitted to maintenance crews for rapid correction
Data is also logged for later analysis and can provide useful information to help improve maintenance turnaround times on major components and enhance the flying experience for passengers.
ViatorAero is based on advanced iBlox technology which uses small sensors to monitor any function on an asset.
FliteTrak is based in the UK with its head office in Amersham, Buckinghamshire and its innovations hub at Solent Business Park in Whiteley, Hampshire.All of its systems, sensors and services are designed and managed in the UK with security and data integrity of paramount importance.
The names of the partner companies have not been disclosed at this point for commercial reasons.
