The firm launched new intelligent remote monitoring systems for passenger cabin air quality and seat cushions at the event. It showcased the next generation of its flagship ViatorAero technology, which can monitor seats for movement, temperature, seatbelt closure and mobile phone activation.

FliteTrak also welcomed UK International Trade Minister Graham Stuart to its stand as part of an official delegation to the show.

Now the company, which has its Innovations Hub at Daedalus Park, Lee on the Solent, Hampshire, UK, is following up agreements and joint venture partnerships with manufacturers and businesses in Europe, North America and the Far East.

Joint managing director Andrew Barnett said: “We made some high quality contacts and held some very promising discussions with seat manufacturers and aircraft manufacturers.

“We signed non-disclosure agreements and are following up on potential joint venture partnerships with companies worldwide.

“The UK International Trade Minister also took a keen interest in our Viator suite of products. It was an incredibly successful show for FliteTrak which means we can confidently move into the next phase of our business plan for 2018.”

FliteTrak was on the ADS Advance stand in the UK Department for International Trade pavilion.

Its Viator system is the first working technology of its kind to monitor airline cabin systems and seating for the benefit of passengers, operations, maintenance and safety.

Each seat is individually monitored by sensors with information transmitted in near live time to flight attendants’ tablets or onboard ICT systems.

Alerts can also be sent to flag up issues, data logged for later analysis and faulty seats or hardware repaired and maintained more efficiently.

Newly-launched ViatorAir monitors air quality in cabins for elements such as smoke, alcohol, oxygen and harmful substances including ammonia, gas andTricresyl phosphate (TCP).

ViatorComfort measures and maps pressure points on airline seat cushions to help improve maintenance turnaround times and enhance the flying experience for passengers.

The FliteTrak delegation included Mr Barnett, fellow joint managing director Trevor Lea and directors Thibaut de Bouillane and Chris Osborne.

FliteTrak was a finalist at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Innovation Awards in 2017. It was also on the shortlist for the Crystal Cabin Awards at AIX.

The Hamburg AIX is one of the world’s leading events for airlines and the supply chain to source the latest innovations, technologies and products for the cabin interiors, inflight entertainment and passenger comfort industries.

FliteTrak is based in the UK with its head office in Amersham, Buckinghamshire and its innovations hub at Daedalus Park in Hampshire.
